Architect, Frank O. Gehry, designed and installed the Art of the Motorcycle exhibit in Las Vegas in 1998.
Gehry was the designer for the highly acclaimed Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. He designed and installed the Art of the Motorcycle exhibit for both the Guggenheim’s in New York and Bilbao.
The Las Vegas exhibit featured curved highly reflective steel walls, ramps, chain-link curtains and a mirror finish stainless platform under each motorcycle. His design dynamically responded to the massive scale of both the exhibit in Las Vegas and the materials, craftsmanship, and historicity of the motorcycles themselves.
